Undersecretary Valdivia chairs the 1st Round of Political Consultations with the United Arab Emirates

The Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs of Chile, Carolina Valdivia, joined by the Minister of State for International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, Reem Al Hashimy, chaired today the 1st Round of the Chile - UAE Political Consultation Mechanism. Held online, it was the first meeting of its kind in the history of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

On the occasion, both authorities reviewed the main issues that make up the bilateral agenda, among them, Chile's participation in Expo Dubai 2020; bilateral trade and investments in strategic areas such as food security, renewable energy, and green hydrogen; climate action focused on protecting both the land and the ocean; scientific cooperation in Antarctica, and innovation, science, and technology.
