Press statement two years after Russia's invasion of Ukraine

Two years after the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the Government of Chile reiterates its firm condemnation of this aggression and expresses its deep concern for the continued violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the suffering of the Ukrainian people.

Chile reaffirms its commitment to respect for the United Nations Charter, international law, the means of peaceful settlement of disputes and the fundamental principles governing relations between States. It also calls for an urgent reform of the United Nations Security Council, so that it can adequately address the safeguarding of international peace and security.

Finally, the Government of Chile reiterates once again its solidarity with the Ukrainian people and its support for international efforts aimed at restoring peace in Ukraine, with respect for its territorial integrity.
