Minister van Klaveren meets with the President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto van Klaveren, met at the Malacañang Palace, in Manila, with the President of the Philippines, Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. During the meeting, they highlighted the strong bilateral relationship between both countries.

Previously, the Foreign Affairs Minister held a meeting with his Philippine counterpart, Enrique Manalo. At the meeting, they discussed various issues on the cooperation agenda, such as: trade and investment; disaster risk reduction; agricultural, maritime and tourism collaboration, among other matters.

The ministers also agreed to promote activities and deepen collaboration in biodiversity, renewable energies, creative industries, education, as well as other areas that allow for a profitable exchange. 

In addition, they highlighted the importance of the start of negotiations of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, signed today between Foreign Minister van Klaveren and the Secretary of Commerce and Industry of that country, Cristina A. Roque. Which will strengthen economic ties even further, promoting the diversification of exports and strengthening cooperation in key areas such as technology, innovation and services.
