Minister van Klaveren and Undersecretary Sanhueza meet with ambassadors of European Union member countries in Chile

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto van Klaveren, and the Undersecretary for International Economic Relations, Claudia Sanhueza, met today with ambassadors of countries members of the European Union (EU) in Chile, in a meeting hosted by the head of the Hungarian mission, Edit Bucsi-Szabó, the country that holds the presidency of the Council of the organization.

At the meeting, they discussed the projection of the relationship between Chile and the EU, as well as the coincidences that exist in continuing to deepen a common agenda. They also discussed the challenges of the current global context.

They also discussed the regional situation and integration in Latin America, multilateralism and its challenges in an increasingly fragmented context. The minister highlighted and thanked the support of each country in expediting the ratification of the Advanced Framework Agreement, an instrument that will allow renewing the trade relationship between the parties, as well as generating new opportunities in sustainable trade, human rights, among other areas.

On this occasion participated the ambassadors in Chile of the EU, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Greece, France, Finland, Ireland, Spain, Sweden, Czech Republic, Romania, Portugal, Netherlands, Norway, as well as the chargés d'affaires of Denmark, Italy and Poland.
