Minister van Klaveren accompanies President Boric and United Nations Secretary General on visit to Antarctica

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto van Klaveren, is accompanying the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, and the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, on a visit to Antarctica.

The authorities toured today three of the ten Chilean bases located in the area and attended an exhibition of the Chilean Antarctic Institute (Inach) on the effects of climate change in the territory, prior to the COP28 to be held in the coming days in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The delegation is composed of the Ministers of the Environment, Maisa Rojas, of Science, Aisén Etcheverry, and the Chilean Ambassador to the United Nations, Paula Narváez.
