Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with Director General of the International Labor Organization
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto van Klaveren, met with the Director General of the International Labor Organization (ILO), Gilbert Houngbo, where they discussed matters of common interest.
The authorities discussed Chile's accession to the Global Coalition for Social Justice; Chile's ratification of the Convention on Safety and Health in Mines (C176) and the implementation of the law to reduce the working day to 40 hours. In this regard, the Chancellor reiterated Chile's commitment to the promotion and protection of labor rights.
The Director General of the International Labor Organization is in Chile to participate in the United Nations System Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB), which will be held this week, for the first time, in Santiago.
