Minister of Foreign Affairs Alberto van Klaveren heads the II High Level Dialogue Chile - United Kingdom
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto van Klaveren, received the Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom, James Cleverly, with whom he headed the II High Level Dialogue Chile - United Kingdom, at the level of Foreign Ministers.
Secretary Cleverly's visit to Chile is part of his Latin American tour, which included Jamaica, Colombia, Chile and Brazil.
The meeting between ministers, which took place in the context of the commemoration of 200 years of consular relations between the two countries, reviewed issues on the global and bilateral agenda, based on the community of principles and shared visions on democracy, human rights and the promotion of peace, among others.
The dialogue discussed climate change, energy transition, sustainable economic growth, trade, investments in non-conventional energy, critical minerals for environmentally responsible industrial development, joint work in the United Nations Human Rights Council and issues related to disarmament and non-proliferation, among others.
Secretary Cleverly's stay in Chile included meetings with young people, British businessmen and a visit to British investments in our country. In addition, together with Foreign Minister Alberto van Klaveren, he visited the Museum of Memory and Human Rights.
