Minister of Foreign Affairs accompanies President Gabriel Boric on bilateral meeting with President Joe Biden
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto van Klaveren, accompanied the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, to the bilateral meeting held in the Oval Room of the White House with his US counterpart, Joe Biden.
During the encounter, held in the context of the 200th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the leaders discussed the Summit of the Alliance for Economic Prosperity of the Americas (APEP) to be held tomorrow in Washington D.C., as well as trade and environmental issues, and the regional and global agenda.
The Foreign Affairs Minister also attended, together with President Gabriel Boric, the Responsible Investment Forum, within the framework of APEP, where economic cooperation with a focus on the protection of democracy, workers' rights and environmental protection, as well as the promotion of development and economic prosperity in the region, was discussed in depth.
APEP is composed of the governments of Barbados, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, United States, Peru and Uruguay.
The day also included a bilateral meeting with the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Alicia Bárcena.
