Minister Allamand participates in celebration of World Health Day

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrés Allamand, participated this morning in the ceremony to commemorate World Health Day, which was led by the President of the Republic, Sebastián Piñera.

During the event, which was attended by the Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, among other authorities, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, made an important recognition of Chile's initiative to promote a Global Treaty Against Pandemics.

The objective of this treaty is to create a global, legally binding, multidimensional preparedness instrument, in order to be better prepared to respond in a coordinated manner to future pandemics. In addition to strengthening and complementing existing international standards, and adopting binding and specific international commitments.
