Minister Alberto van Klaveren meets with Director General of the International Organization for Migration

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto van Klaveren, met with the Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Amy Pope, with whom he discussed the ways in which the organization can support the Chilean Government in the challenges of the regional migration agenda and the implementation of the country's migration policy and regulations.

At the hearing, the Foreign Affairs Minister expressed his interest in counting on the collaboration and technical cooperation of the IOM in the implementation of the measures of the Action Plan contained in the National Policy on Migration and Foreigners (PNME), enacted in December 2023.

The IOM Director General is in Chile to participate in the United Nations System Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB), which is being held this week, for the first time, in Santiago.
