Foreign Minister participates with President Piñera in meetings with the French President and the Secretary General of the OECD
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrés Allamand, participated in the Official Visit of the President of the Republic, Sebastián Piñera, in France.
In this meeting, the Secretary of State, joined by Minister Allamand, held meetings with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, in which they discussed the need to seal the modernization of the Association Agreement between Chile and the European Union, our third largest commercial partner.
In addition, there was space to address the importance of moving towards a global treaty against pandemics, which Chile has promoted before the international community; the relevance of developing green hydrogen, and the need to strengthen policies against climate change.
These last two points were also discussed in the meeting between the President and the Chancellor with the Secretary-General of the OECD, Mathias Cormann. At the meeting, they insisted that Chile can achieve exports of about US $ 30,000 million annually in terms of green hydrogen.
Finally, other current issues were addressed, such as the vaccination plan against Covid-19 and the economic reactivation strategies.
