Foreign Affairs Minister participates in signing of ILO Convention 176 on safety and health in the mining industry
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto van Klaveren, participated today, during the commemoration of Miners' Day, in the signing of the presidential message for the National Congress to ratify Convention 176 of the National Labor Organization (ILO) on safety and health in mining. The document was also signed by the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, and by the Ministers of Labor and Social Security, Jeannette Jara, and of Mining, Marcela Hernando, together with representatives of the mining sector.
The purpose of this agreement is to provide more safety and health in the area of mining activity. It also seeks to legally guarantee the rights of mining workers, promoting social dialogue and tripartism as fundamental tools.
