Chile assumes the Presidency of the Government Group at the International Labor Organization
As of January 1, 2021, Chile assumes the Presidency of the Government Group of the International Labor Organization (ILO), a role that will extend until the end of the International Labor Conference in June 2021.
The Presidency of the Government Group, which will be assumed by the Ambassador of Chile to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Frank Tressler, is responsible for coordinating the work of the 187 Member States of the International Labor Organization. Also, Chile will be the interlocutor with the Employer and Worker groups represented during the indicated period.
This presidency is the recognition of the contribution that our country is making within the ILO.
This responsibility will be assumed when countries begin to emerge from the pandemic's economic crisis and when there's a necessity to develop more sustainable and inclusive jobs.
