Tuesday, December 3rd 2024

In the presence of the Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto van Klaveren, and the Minister of the General Administration of Customs of China, Yu Jianhua, both countries signed protocols that will further expand access of Chilean products to the Asian country.

This includes a protocol for the shipment of fresh fruit through third countries, which will optimize transfer times and improve the condition of the fruit for consumers, as well as another protocol that expands exports to include refrigerated meats and some frozen by-products, increasing the supply of proteins for Chinese consumers.

Both documents were signed by the Undersecretary of Agriculture, Ignacia Fernández, and the Chinese Vice Minister of Customs, Wang Lingjun.

The Foreign Affairs Minister is currently on a working visit to China, where he will hold a series of meetings with Chinese authorities, including one with his counterpar, Minister Wang Yi.
