Minister Roberto Ampuero visits Ecuador and meets with Chancellor Valencia
As part of his visit to Ecuador, Foreign Minister Roberto Ampuero held a working meeting today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of that country, José Valencia.
At the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry in Quito, the ministers discussed cooperation and integration measures between the two countries, as well as the current regional situation.
At the end of the meeting, Chancellor Ampuero welcomed the meeting, stressing the close link between Chile and Ecuador. "We know that there are excellent relations between our peoples and also between our governments, so it is very pleasant for me to be here. We have proposed, together with Chancellor José Valencia, to advance in the strengthening of the relations between Ecuador and Chile. And we have done so through agreements, through very specific issues on which we want to move forward and expand," said the Minister.
After the meeting, Ministers Ampuero and Valencia signed a joint declaration establishing an inter-ministerial bi-national council, cooperation between the diplomatic academies of both countries and the exchange of experiences between the Elige Vivir Sano programme and the Toda Una Vida plan.
"We have had a great experience with my delegation in your country, we are very happy with what we have talked about, what we have achieved and the documents we have signed. And may the friendship between Ecuador and Chile always live on," concluded the Foreign Minister.
