President Piñera appoints new Ambassador of Chile to India
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Ampuero, informed that the President of the Republic Sebastián Piñera has appointed Juan Angulo Monsalve as Ambassador of Chile in India, who has already received the respective blessing.
Juan Angulo Monsalve is a career diplomat, Commercial Engineer from the University of Chile (1987), having obtained the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences award to the best graduate student of his class, mentioning economics. He graduated from the Diplomatic Academy "Andrés Bello" and completed postgraduate studies in Public Management at the National School of Administration (ENA), Paris, France (Condorcet promotion, 1990-1992). He has taken several professional improvement courses.
In his diplomatic career he has worked abroad at the Chilean Embassies in Denmark and France, at the Consulate General in Amsterdam and at the Chilean Mission to the European Union/Embassy in Belgium, where he worked in the political, commercial, consular and cooperation areas.
In Chile, he has held positions in the General Directorate of International Economic Relations, the General Administrative Directorate and the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, having served as Chief of Staff. He has also been Deputy Director of the Directorate of European Affairs and currently serves as Deputy Director of the Directorate of Environment and Ocean Affairs, where he was responsible, among other functions, for leading Chile's delegations at the recent meetings of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change at the technical level.
