Vietnam's Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with Chancellor Ampuero.
On Monday, Foreign Minister Roberto Ampuero met with Vietnam's Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bui Thanh Sơn, who is visiting the country on 18 and 19 March.
At the meeting, which was also attended by the Vietnamese Ambassador in Chile, Nguyen Ngoc Son, they commented on the good relations between the two countries, reinforced in the commercial area by the FTA in force since 2014 that covers a universe of more than 9 thousand products in different categories of tariff reduction.
It should be noted that Chilean exports to Vietnam in 2018 were US$ 295 million with an increase of 5.7% compared to the previous period. Among the principal shipments are salmon and fresh fruit.
On the other hand, Vietnam is one of the seven countries (out of a total of 11) that already have the CPTTP in force, an agreement that in Chile was approved this month by the Finance Commission of the Chamber of Deputies.
Vice-Minister Bui Thanh's visit Sơn will also include the VI Meeting of Political Consultations between Undersecretaries and a visit to the Chamber of Deputies.
