Undersecretary Riveros meets with Director of International Agreements of the British Chancellery
The Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, Edgardo Riveros, held an audience with the Director of International Agreements of the British Foreign Ministry, Hugh Elliot, who is in our country as part of a Latin American tour that also includes Brazil and Mexico.
During the meeting, different perspectives on the future of the political, economic and cooperation relationship between Chile and the United Kingdom were discussed. Both authorities stressed the strong ties that unite both countries, the negotiations underway in Chile with the European Union and the high level of commercial exchange with a trade balance that shows a favourable record for our country.
The meeting also highlighted the excellent state of bilateral relations such as academic approaches, bearing in mind that the United Kingdom is one of the main destinations for national students. It was also mentioned that it is one of the most important destinations worldwide for our wines, which has led Chilean wineries to sign contracts with leading Premier League football teams in England.
