President Piñera appoints Chilean Ambassador to Palestine
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Ampuero, informed that the President of the Republic, Sebastián Piñera, has designated as Ambassador of Chile in the State of Palestine, Ricardo Alen Sani, who has already received the respective agreement.
Ricardo Alen is a career diplomat, a graduate of the "Andrés Bello" Diplomatic Academy. He is a professor of History and Geography from the University of Concepción and holds a Master's degree in International Trade from the Aconcagua University in Mendoza, Argentina.
Abroad, he has served in the Chilean Embassies in Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of Congo), South Africa, Kenya and Ghana. In this last assignment he opened the Embassy of Chile in 2013, where he served as Chargé d'Affaires. He was also Deputy Consul in Mendoza, Argentina.
In Chile, he has served in the Cabinet of the Director General of Foreign Policy, in the Directorates of Ceremonial and Protocol, South America, Africa and the Middle East and as Director of the Office of Parliamentary Affairs. At the time of his appointment, he was Deputy Director of Human Rights.
