Lima Group greets the recognition by the IDB of representative designated by President Juan Guaidó of Venezuela.

The governments of Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, and Peru, members of the Lima Group, welcome the decision taken by the Boards of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) to recognize Mr. Ricardo Hausmann, appointed by the President in Charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, as that country's Governor in these entities. This decision confirms the growing isolation of the illegitimate and dictatorial regime of Nicolás Maduro.

The Lima Group renews its commitment to the return of democracy in Venezuela through the holding of free and fair elections. In this regard, they will continue to support the recognition of the representatives of President Guaidó in international organizations and multilateral mechanisms.
