International Court of Justice sets date for the reading of the sentence in the "Obligation to Negotiate" Case (Bolivia vs. Chile)
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile informs that the International Court of Justice has informed the parties that it will read out in public hearing the sentence in the case "Obligation to Negotiate an Access to the Pacific Ocean (Bolivia vs. Chile)" initiated by the Bolivian lawsuit in 2013. The hearing will take place on Monday, October 1, 2018, at the Peace Palace, The Hague, from 15:00 hrs. local time.
The Government of Chile awaits with tranquillity the ruling of the International Court of Justice. The Government reiterates its attachment to international law and especially its respect for the treaties of limits in force. The President of the Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will initiate a process of coordination and consultation with the different political and institutional actors in order to promote State policy and national unity.
