Foreign Minister Ampuero launches Innovation Summit Miami 2018
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Ampuero, today led the launch of ProChile Innovation Summit Miami 2018, which will be held on December 3 and 4.
The objective of this unprecedented meeting is to connect national companies with the main actors of entrepreneurship and innovation in Miami, so they can learn the essential aspects to expand their business in a key market such as the United States, discover how has been the path to success for entrepreneurs who are now recognized worldwide, and connect with U.S. investors.
Thus, during his speech, Chancellor Ampuero highlighted that this initiative "is a very relevant event: it is the first innovation summit organized by ProChile in the United States, an activity that represents the seal of the new ProChile 3.0, promoted by President Piñera", and he added: "it is an opportunity that will favor, especially, SMEs, by supporting their internationalization strategies, connecting them, especially with other agents of innovation, entrepreneurship and creativity".
Regarding the choice of Miami as the venue for this event, the Minister explained that the United States currently ranks second as a destination for Chilean exports. He also pointed out that "the State of Florida has become the most important destination for Chile's total exports to the United States, widely surpassing others of great relevance, such as California. With US$2.619 million registered in 2017, Florida represented almost 25% of the little more than US$10.55 billion exported by Chile to the North American country.
