Tuesday, October 2, 2018

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Ampuero, attended today together with the Chilean Agent before the International Court of Justice, Claudio Grossman, the Senate Relations Committee. The instance dealt with the reading of the judgment of the International Court of Justice which determined, by 12 votes to 3, that Chile has no obligation to negotiate a sovereign outlet to the Pacific Ocean with Bolivia.

Subsequently, the Chancellor and the Agent attended the Foreign Relations Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, where they also explained the details of The Hague judgment. There they were greeted with applause, and Agent Grossman was awarded a medal in recognition of his work.
