Chilean government expresses concern about violence in Nicaragua

The Government of Chile once again expresses its deep concern at the acts of violence that continue to take place in Nicaragua and which have unfortunately claimed further fatalities.

While calling on all sectors to put an end to violence, the Government of Chile reiterates its conviction that the right to demonstrate peacefully must be respected, avoiding the excessive use of force and, as a consequence, an escalation of the crisis.

The Government of Chile expresses its wish for the meeting of paths of understanding and dialogue that will restore peace and tranquillity to this brotherly country.
