Chile rejects the attack in Ecuador and sends its solidarity to the families of the victims

The Government of Chile categorically rejects the attack that caused the deaths of three members of the Ecuadorian Armed Forces in the Mataje sector of Esmeralda Province, Ecuador.

The Government of Chile extends its deepest condolences and solidarity to the Government of Ecuador and to the families of the victims.

Faced with this new act of violence in the border area of Ecuador and Colombia, Chile expresses its support for the joint efforts made by the Governments of those countries to combat transnational organized crime.
