Chile offers to host next round of peace talks between Colombia and the ELN

The Government of Chile has offered to host the next meeting of the peace talks between the Government of Colombia and the National Liberation Army (ELN) in Colombia.

The offer was made considering both the role of guarantor assumed since the beginning of these talks and the decision of the Republic of Ecuador announced in the previous days to end its participation as guarantor and host of these dialogues.

In this regard, Chile joins in the gratitude expressed by Colombia for the role assumed during this stage by the Government of Ecuador.

In addition, Chile reaffirms its willingness, as a partner country since the beginning of this peace process in Colombia, to continue to help in the way that, as a whole, is considered the most appropriate.

Chile reiterates its wish that these peace talks be brought to a successful conclusion in the shortest time possible.
