Chile and Paraguay hold meeting on consular and migratory issues

The Director General of Consular Affairs, Immigration and Chileans Abroad, Ambassador Raúl Sanhueza, headed the first working meeting of the Bilateral Commission for Cooperation in Consular and Migratory Affairs Chile-Paraguay, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile.

The objective of the session was to share visions, good practices and proposals aimed at strengthening consular management and assistance to migrants from both countries, under the principle of bilateral collaboration and cooperation.

Another topic that was discussed was Chile's proposal to consider an agreement on consular care for nationals of both parties in Argentine territory.

The delegation of Paraguay was headed by Minister Gustavo Gómez, Director of Consular Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country.
