Monday, July 9, 2018

On Monday, the Director of Borders and Boundaries of Chile, Ambassador Ximena Fuentes Torrijo, held a working meeting with the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, María del Carmen Almendras Camargo.

The meeting took place in the office of Ambassador Fuentes at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile.

The purpose of the meeting was to review the technical agenda between the two countries, reactivated in the framework of the Border and Integration Committees held in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and Arica, Chile, during 2017.

It should be remembered that during these meetings, different cooperation issues were discussed and which bring direct benefits to the populations of both countries, such as border controls, police cooperation, customs, disaster risk and response, health, tourism and culture, among others.

In that context, today's meeting addressed the option of a new Border and Integration Committee, which could be finalized in September this year.
