Chancellor Ampuero signs cybersecurity cooperation agreement with the OAS

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Ampuero, signed this Friday in Washington a memorandum of understanding between the Government of Chile and the General Secretariat of the OAS on cybersecurity.

The document was signed by Foreign Minister Ampuero and the Secretary General of the hemispheric organization, Luis Almagro, at OAS headquarters, in the context of a visit made by the President of the Republic, Sebastián Piñera.

The text establishes as areas of cooperation the elaboration of strategies and policies in this area, as well as the elaboration of reports and analysis on the state of cybersecurity in specific areas. Also, assistance in the protection of critical assets, implementing cybersecurity standards to deal with incidents.

In this context, the agreement contemplates working on possible exchanges of officials and experts, development of training activities and exchange of information, among others.
