The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Ampuero, received the protocol greeting of the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Guglielmo Picchi, who visited our country from 10 to 12 April. During the visit, Minister Ampuero reiterated the invitation the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, to make an official visit to our country.
Also, the high authorities talked about the modernization process of the Chile-EU Association Agreement, recalling that Chile values its political and commercial association with the European bloc and is, therefore, working to strengthen this association even further relationship.
Finally, Minister Ampuero recalled that our country would host the next meeting of COP25, reiterating its commitment to the implementation of the Paris agreement and concrete climate actions in the fight against climate change, for which it hopes to with the enthusiastic Italian support.
It should be noted that, during the morning, Undersecretary Picchi, was received by the Undersecretary of U.S. RR. (S), Ambassador Patricio Torres, the occasion on which the First Strengthened Political Dialogue between Chile and Italy was held, a mechanism contemplated in the Plan of Action A set that guides bilateral relations. It was also decided to convene the Joint Inter-Agency Working Group, while at the same time implement actions to stimulate bilateral trade.
