The Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, Edgardo Riveros, attended the Senate Finance Committee today. On the occasion, the bill was approved that modifies various legal bodies in order to modernize the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will move on to its next legislative process in the plenary of the Senate.
He then attended the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, where the Convention on the Status of Stateless Persons and the Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness were approved. "The aim is to be bound by these international agreements, which aim to ensure that there are no persons without nationality, because a series of other fundamental rights depend on nationality", said the authority in relation to both conventions, which were ready to be voted on by the Senate.
