Safe Conduct
What does this service provide?

Consular officers who performs consular duties may grant a safe conduct to travel exclusively to Chile, on a direct flight, without prior consultation with the Ministry, to nationals who are not holding their travel documents because of loss, destruction, voidance or removal thereof.

Where is it provided?

At Consulates of Chile abroad.

Who may request this service?

Nationals abroad who have lost their identity document or, exceptionally, alien residents in Chile who have lost their travel documents abroad.


To certify Chilean nationality. As for exceptional situations of foreigners, residence in Chile must be proved.


Safe conduct to enter the national territory.


During the processing of an application, submission of additional documents might be required. The validity of a travel document is 10 days and only for entry into Chile. The cost of this formality must be inquired at the Consulate.
