In the context of the "National Conference on Human Rights and Business", Under-Secretary Edgardo Riveros and the director of the Danish Institute for Human Rights, Allan Lerberg, subscribed to a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Chile and the National Institute for Human Rights on the "National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights".
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in charge of overviewing human rights and entrepreneurship through the Human Rights Direction which is currently coordinating a National Action Plan in collaboration with the Danish Institute for Human Rights. The elaboration process of this national plan started in April last year and throughout its first phase (from April 2015 to April 2016) had the technical support of the Danish institute which is why the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between both institutions.
This year, the second phase of the process has started, therefore, a second memorandum was signed which grants the suitable institutional context in order to establish the link between the Ministry and the Danish Institute.
