Wednesday, June 27, 2018

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Ampuero, held a luncheon with the ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of the member countries of the Lima Group accredited in Chile.

During the meeting, they analyzed the events of the last OAS General Assembly and followed up on the resolution on the situation in Venezuela, approved at that time. The last meeting of the Lima Group was held in Washington, DC, within the framework of the OAS.

"Respect for democracy, freedom and human rights is a fundamental element for the development and well-being of humankind. In this sense, the countries that make up the Lima Group remain concerned about the crisis in Venezuela and we will continue to follow developments in that country, without forgetting that it is the Venezuelans themselves who must resolve it," said Foreign Minister Ampuero.

The Lima Group is made up of Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Saint Lucia.
