Friday, June 1, 2018

In order to analyze the implementation of the Migration Regularization Process and the establishment of tourism and humanitarian visas for citizens from Haiti, a government delegation visited Port-au-Prince this week.

The delegation was led by the Director General of Consular and Immigration Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile, Raúl Sanhueza, and included the representative of the Ministry of the Interior, Mijail Bonito; IOM Head of Mission in Chile, Norberto Girón; and the Deputy Commissioner of the Chilean Investigation Police, Erik Cáceres.

"We could see on the ground the great work and effort that our consulate and its officials are doing to lead this process," said the Consular Director.

The trip included meetings with authorities from the Haitian Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Haitians Abroad, meetings with the Haitian National Police, IOM-Haiti authorities and the Brazilian Embassy.
