Chile condena ataque armado de la República Popular Democrática de Corea
The Government of Chile expresses its utmost condemnation of the artillery attack carried out by forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on Yeonpyeong Island, territory of the Republic of Korea, which claimed the lives of two people and caused substantial material damage.
The Government of Chile, along with condemning the incident, calls on the regime in Pyongyang to set aside its bellicose attitude, which alters the atmosphere of stability in Northeast Asia and reiterates its support to the search of a peaceful solution in the Korean Peninsula.
In this context, we renew our call on North Korea to return to the hexapartite negotiating table, in order to promptly find a solution to this conflict.
