The Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, Edgardo Riveros, participated today in the opening ceremony of the II Conference on the Association Agreement between Chile and the European Union. During his speech, he highlighted the decision of both sides to start negotiations to modernise the current economic agreement between Chile and the EU, which was announced on 16 November in Brussels.
In that sense, the Undersecretary pointed out that this is a fundamental step in our relationship, which will lead us to move forward according to the times and to face current challenges in an appropriate manner. He also stressed that with the modernisation of the Agreement we will renew our commitment to the European Union, strengthening political dialogue and cooperation with a flexible, modern and innovative legal framework that will facilitate the challenges and challenges of a highly globalized and changing world.
