Press Release regarding Venezuela
The Government of Chile expresses its strong condemnation of the decision made by the Constituent National Assembly of taking over the faculties and legislative powers of the National Assembly, which confirms the rupture of the constitutional and democratic order in Venezuela.
In consequence:
1. Renews the non-recognition of this and other acts that originates from the Constituent National Assembly.
2. Decides to intensify its consultations with like-minded countries with the purpose of applying the Inter-American Democratic Charter to Venezuela.
