President Michelle Bachelet appoints new Ambassador

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Heraldo Muñoz, informed that the President of the Republic, Michelle Bachelet, has promoted the career diplomat Marisol Pérez to the rank of Ambassador.

Ambassador Perez is a lawyer and bachelor in law from Universidad de Chile. Also, she studied in "Andres Bello" Diplomatic Academy. She has performed duties in the Chilean Embassies of Japan, Germany, Holy See and Italy. She has also been Alternate Representative of Chile in the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome.

Within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Santiago she has worked as Executive Secretariat of the Centenary in the Chile-Japan Relations, Alternate Representative of Chile in front of ECLAC and Alternate Representative of Chile in front of the Community of Democracies and as the General Direction of Multilateral Policies, Europe, Planning, Asia-Pacific, Multilateral Policy and Special Policy.

Since January 2015 she acts as Head of the Chancellery in the Chilean Embassy in India, New Delhi.
