This afternoon, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Heraldo Muñoz, joined President Michelle Bachelet in meeting with African-American social justice activist and scholar Angela Davis, an icon of the 60s and 70s known worldwide for her fight for gender and racial justice.
After the meeting, Minister Muñoz took the Women, Race, and Class author to visit La Moneda Palace's White Hall, a replica of Salvador Allende´s office located where the Presidental Hall used to be and where the former president died 43 years ago.
Davis came to Chile to participate in the 10th bi-annual conference of the Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics entitled "eX-céntrico, dissidence, sovereignties, performance," organized by the University of Chile, the Hemispheric Institute of the New York University and other collaborative institutions. In-between these activities, she also participated in a cultural activity in the Recoleta settlement that was named after her.
